I Live My Way

Who wrote this song, and does anyone have the lyrics? Was it released anywhere aside from the Man On The Edge 12"? Would appreciate any help. Cheers.

The song was written by Haris, Bayley, Gers.

It was also released on the Japanese edition of The X Factor (2CD)

I Live My Way (Harris/Bayley/Gers)

Sometimes when I feel the anger
Sometimes when I'm all alone
Sometimes when I feel surrounded
Like all the doors are closed
I feel like I've been a prisoner
I feel like I've been a tool
Let people try to judge me
When they're not in my shoes

*I've lived on my knees
Trying to please
It's time to change

Some people are only happy
When they can watch you fail
And to them every day is
Another coffin nail
I think that I've found the answer

I think that at last I know
We've only got one lifetime
I'll make my life my own

*Repeat
To live my own way

I live my way
Living for today
Don't care what they say

Lib, Maverick, thanks for the info! I've never heard of this 2CD Japanese edition of The X-Factor...what's on the 2nd disc, all the non-album tracks from the X-Factor sessions? I am assuming: Judgement Day, Justice Of The Peace, I Live My Way, My Generation, Doctor Doctor?

Cheers.

Hey, i have a question. Are you guys sure that's Nicko drumming? No bad intention, but it's just not his style

The CD 2 of the japanese edition contains 'Justice of the peace', 'I live my way' and 'Judgment day'.

There's also a french release in 2 Cd : the second Cd is an Interview. (I don't have it, so I don't know what they're talking about)

i have the man on the edge 12" pic disc. i'd just like to say that i think both I Live My Way and Justice of the Peace are amazing tracks, especially Justice of the Peace (great solo!)

i've never seen the french edition (although I'm french... [!--emo&--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/rolleyes.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'rolleyes.gif\' /][!--endemo--] )
I've seen the Japanese edition one time in Paris, in a little music shop specialised in metal and Maiden in particular. If I remember well, the price was between 30-40 €.

All this songs are very good songs : they aren't B-sides in fact, they were written for the album, but there's only 74 minutes on a Cd, so there were too many songs. (as said in the Best of the B-sides booklet)
So the Japanese edition is, in fact, the whole album they would release.

No, 'Virus' was written in 1996 for the release of Best of the Beast.

Steve says about it : (I'll try to translate as good as I can : it's not word for word... [!--emo&^_^--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/happy.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'happy.gif\' /][!--endemo--] )

"Having an unpublished track on Best of the Beast was the Rod Smallwood's idea. He thought that's a plus for the compilation. We've recorded it in this intention and it was the first time we were in studio for a unique track. We had a certain time (5 weeks), so we were all together to write and it also was a first."
