Hurt Or Heal

I seen this game on the Megadeth forum and thought it would be quite fun to play.

Basically what happens is each maiden album starts with 50 points. You can vote only once per day, and in that you can give your favorite album an additional point and also take 2 away from your least favorite or a rival album to your favorite.

Once an album has reached 0 points it is elimanated. Last album standing wins.

Iron Maiden - 50
Killers - 50
TNOTB - 50
Piece Of Mind - 50
Powerslave - 50
Somwhere In Time - 50
SSOASS - 50
NPFTD - 50 (-2) = 48
Fear Of The Dark - 50
X Factor - 50
Virtual XI - 50
Brave New World - 50
Dance Of Death - 50
AMOLAD - 50
Final Frontier - 50 (+1) = 51

Last time, almost a year. From October 24, 2008 to August 8, 2009.

Never again. Count me out. Have fun with your nightmare. :dead:

The last one ended in a quite epic way, but I'm not going into another one ...

Fair enough, i didnt really think how long it would take to do this and im a newbie so i didnt know it's been done before.  :)

You can do it if you like ... the new members since the last time may join you. But I suspect quite a few of the old participants will decline to repeat.

Alright, it looks like the OP got discouraged (or just disappeared) ... so let's try this again. You guys are quite welcome to play this game; go for it.

My only point was: some old-timers have done this before, and it took forever. So some members here may not be playing much, but I'm sure others will. Also, as the guy who runs the Survivors, I'm hardly in a position to complain about games that run too long ... I start most of 'em.

However, as a mod, I'm going to modify the OP's rules slightly...
1. You can post as often as you like, as long as someone else has posted before you. (No double-posting, duh.)
2. I think the OP meant "take 2 points from a single album". I like the idea, but let's make it more open: you can also take 1 point each from 2 different albums.

Just so we're clear: it's +1 to one album, and -2 total to one or two others. The total points should decrease by one with every post. (That's the only reason this game gets my blessing; it guarantees this game will end. The endless nature of the first game was the problem, as we had months of two albums fighting back and forth with an even +1/-1.)

Just to get it started for the n00bz, I'll do the first one:

Iron Maiden - 50
Killers - 50
The Number Of The Beast - 51 (+1)
Piece Of Mind - 50
Powerslave - 50
Somewhere In Time - 50
Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son - 50
No Prayer For The Dying - 47 (-1)
Fear Of The Dark - 49 (-1)
The X Factor - 50
Virtual XI - 50
Brave New World - 50
Dance Of Death - 50
A Matter Of Life And Death - 50
The Final Frontier - 51

Pandora's Box is open for business.

PS: I just did the math. This game should last 750 rounds, and the thread will be about 25 pages long by the end. For comparison, the first game thread was 235 pages.

That's a worst case scenario, where two albums are going to the wire. It can take less (it will take 750 - X, where X is the number of points the winning album has left at the end).
