Or: Thought and encouraging are questioned.  ;)

May I ask which aspect(s) of the Jesuits you find more fitting to your personality, comparing with the Franciscan Order?

(My dad was in the Carmelite Order)

The fact that I am allowed to be myself. The fact that I am encouraged to find my own path to God, not someone elses. By this I mean that when asked how I "pray" or when I feel the most comfortable in "talking" to god I told him, "when I'm listening to heavy metal in the middle of the night." "ok, keep it up."

What I also like is that is is a very active spirituality. St. Ignatius essentially gave himself up to the Pope to do what is needed, since then they've become doctors, teachers, lawyers... etc. I can be a priest AND a social worker, or whatever I choose to do. Be out in the world rather than "stuck" day in and day out in a church.

I have nothing against diocesans or Franciscans, of course, it's just not for me lol
