I really thought it would take a lot longer for that game to die. I don't know if it's a good loss or not though. It was a very good outlet for discovering new music and it inspired kids to pick up a guitar but at the same time even more kids rather play guitar hero than guitar. I guess it doesn't matter too much cos Rock Band is more popular and GH had started to decline when they started ripping off rock band.

The world still has Rock Band, that's basically better.
Anyway, I don't like either, and I really tried. I even have the guitar thing. But after you start playing real guitar, it feels different. I know it's not -really- meant to be a sub, but it is designed so that people who don't play will feel like they do. It's nice, but doesn't last for me.

Too bad, my kids got into a lot of classic rock because of these games (which they can still obviously play).  I think between the two franchises and the number of releases it became too saturated and a bit pricey if you kept upgrading the guitars.

At least it puts an end to all those German ads with their dreadful mispronounciation of the word "guitar".

More like, with the over-saturation of the marketplace by Activision's quick-quid tactics, it was only natural this would eventually happen. This is what happens when you bring out several versions of the same game every year and attempt to exploit something super-quickly, the game quality suffers and eventually everyone gets sick of those games. (plus people start to question why they should spend the money on more and more peripherals and DLC that doesn't work etc).
This is why I hate companies like EA and Activision and why I am sad when talented and passionate companies like Westood, Free Radical, Bullfrog, etc go bust. God I miss the 90s so bad when a small team of developers could produce quality games cheaply and without this crap.

I recently modded my Wii and now have every SNES and NES game on it. I remain firmly in the belief that the SNES is the best system of all time.

In terms of games... yes. I still hold that the Sega Genesis was a better system, but unfortunately never had the games to keep it afloat outside of the EA Games, Road Rash and the Sonic Franchise...

That said, can't wait to get a wii to play all the back catalogue... fuck the new games... hard.

I don't have too many SNES games so I've always liked NES better.

Scratch that, I thought about it for a bit and I do like SNES more.

Seeing as they post here on the forum, I'm pretty sure they all have a pc (or in LC's case, a mac)...  :innocent:

Macs are "PCs" i.e personal computers. They do have a different OS... [/smartass]

Most people can't afford a decent gaming computer (usually around 2500-3000 dollars, unless you build your own), but most people can shell out 200 dollars for a Wii or even 350 for an Xbox.
Consoles my ass. Get a PC. :ok:
