Biggest loss to the scene other than deaths are probably Ozzy selling out like he has. Either that or the disbanding of Megadeth.

I'd qualify Riggsy's fall out with Maiden as another great loss. Just compare the covers of, say, Powerslave or Somewhere In Time to the shit they served us with Dance Of Death... I think Paul Baloff's death was a significant loss recently. He was irreplacable in Exodus.
