Hey guys,
I am new to your board.  I Used to post over at the ironmaiden.com site but since they went to a pay system I didnt.

In any case, let me run a scenario past you and tell me if I did the right thing.

Saturday morning I load up ticketmaster on 2 browsers, this way I can get a choice of 2 sets of tickets without refreshing.  Now, before I get to what I did, I want to explain that my bf who is heavily into Maiden is 36 and has bad knees and a gimpy foot.

Back to the tickets,  I load it up right at 10am for the Camden Show and the 1st browser gives me 18 rows from the stage and a whooping 3 minutes to make my decision.  I click yes just incase.  In the other browser it says PIT/GA  I look at the map and it shows an area in front of the stage but I do not know if it is all standing or what?  I didn't want to get them and have it be a section where they pack you in and then we'd have a bad time.  The other browser holding my 18th row seats says I know have 1 minute to make my purchase or i will lose my tickets.  So I went ahead and took them, giving up the Pit.  Do you think I made the right decision.  I'm not one, well were not ones to sit at a show all night but it just seems like what they call the pit (even though they have folding chairs down there) is a young mans (and womens) game.  Not that we're old, but you get the idea.  I think in retrospect, if I had understood what pit seats were, I probably would have gotten them because it is so close.  So, what do you think?  Dumb, overly cautious or 18th row is cool?

thanks,
karyn

Yes, I think you made the right decision. The 'Pit' usually denotes an are for people to stand tightly packed and jump about freely. The GA is naturally 'General Admission'. It sounds as though you'd be much better off in set seats.

Yes, if your boyfriend has bad legs, you definitely don't want to go to the pit! ^_^

18 rows is pretty far back, but as far as I'm aware any standing seats would have you pretty crushed...you made the right choice, I think.

18 rows is not far back Silky
You should try the highest row in the upper tier in Croke Park ;)

I think you made the right decision Karyn but not many people would want to sit at a Maiden concert anyway.

Well, it's far back for me; I want to be breathing the same air the band breathe! ;)

thanks guys,
dont get me wrong, we definately will be standing for the whole show, I just didn't want to be pancaked and not able to enjoy the show, even though that close would have been awesome.

We were discussing how cool it would be, since it was the 3rd date on the tour, so if we ignored the 1st 2 shows, the setlist would be a surprise.  Usually we check setlist for any show and band after opening night.

thanks again.

I just bought my tickets for Maiden today for Camden. Section 103, Row N (14th row) If you would like to exchange to be in seats, I will be very grateful to make that exchange for your Pit Seats. I'll even throw in some extra cash for you since me and my buddy are looking to upgrade into the pit. Just respond here or email me at MarkV021@gmail.com.

Read the first post again. I suggest you start with this line:
So I went ahead and took them, giving up the Pit.

Yeah, I had thought very briefly that I should have bought them, sold them on Ebay and then bought new tickets, but call me old fashion I hate people doing that!  I mean, if I did that then someone who really wanted them would have to pay higher then the already high price and I didnt want to screw a Maiden fan out of them.  Sure I lost a few bucks but would a few bucks really make a difference?  Not really. Sorry bout that Mark, I'll catch ya next time, k?

YOU did get great tickets...
Unlike me...I've always manage to get "NOT so great tickets" :( even if I am the first online to get them.....but then again I really don't care as long as I get to be inside the venue.
For this tour I got 2nd row on the 2nd tier for the Oct. 21st. and in the process I manage to (by mistake) to duplicated my oder and now I am stuck with a set of extra tickets but for different loge :(

One reason for tickets selling so fast is that some people buy many tickets and then sell them later on eBay for a personal profit
