If this was a joke, I don't get it.
I may be alone in this but these types of posts always bother me. There are plenty of bands today written lyrics just as poetic as Zep, if not even more, and plenty of artists in the ‘70s with lyrics just a simple as Rebecca Black’s. On top of that, the two aren’t even in the same genre so it’s like comparing apples to oranges. Music doesn’t always have to be flowery and poetic, everyone has a different reason for writing music. Besides, “Kashmir” sounds nice but it doesn’t really say much at all. That’s okay because they’re creating epic imagery, but still, a flowery vocabulary doesn’t immediately make something good. “To be where I have been” and “all will be revealed” to me sound like lines just written for the rhyme scheme.
