Funny Iron Maiden memory

I remember back in high school (around 82) a bud of mine asked me if I had heard of Iron Maiden.  I remember the first thing I asked him was if Black Sabbath had did a follow-up to Iron Man, about a woman instead.  He teased me a while about that one.  But that was my first time of hearing about Iron Maiden.  We went over to his house, and he had Iron Maiden self titled, and Iron Maiden Killers records.  I fell instantly in love with the cover of Killers, and made him throw that one on first.  We played the hell out of those two LPs.  Then we had heard that they got rid of Paul, and hired a new guy.  Wasn't too impressed with Bruce at first listen when NOTB came out, but after seeing them open for the Scorpions, I was hooked.

But yeah, it wasn't Black Sabbath doing a follow up to Iron Man.  heh

Thought I'd share that silly memory

Up The Irons!!!  :rocker:

Haha that's funny. That's pretty cool you were around to see them when they were only starting out. Those must have been the days, man.

My dad (who introduced me to maiden) became a fan in their very early days and went to see them at a venue called Chatham central theatre which is pretty funny for people in our area because it's a tiny hall that usually hosts pantomimes, this was shortly before the release of their debut album.
