LOL, We are much more alike on our assessments than you think RW , good to see I wasn't that far off from another fans opinions. I still like Helloween more than Gamma Ray though their stuff after Land of the Free (including that album) is brilliant I believe.

True. I'm definitely a classic metal fan at heart. Gamma Rays stuff was better in the early days though the re-recordings on Blast from the Past made them sound much better. Overall I think Gamma Ray have released more consistently good albums than Helloween who haven't released a good album in ages.

You know, we both forgot about Time of the Oath! which would also fall under "good", however I find it a better and more solid album than Master of the Rings which has very weak tracks, but not better enough to call it "very good", which means my original assessment of MOTR has to change to 'decent'
