For the next Maiden tour....

I know it's a way off yet but given cries for a more interesting setlist on recent tours what direction would you take given a choice? Bearing in mind it would probably be to promote a new album what would you choose? I'm bored, it's Sunday etc....

Slightly ambitious in length and forgive me for ignoring much of the last decade but for me this would be the cats pyjamas!

Bladerunner Theme
Caught Somewhere In Time (it's been too long)
New Song (short catchy single)
Wrathchild (always welcome)
The Clairvoyant (that kickass bass intro!)
New Song (album title track)
New Song (prog type slowish)
Sea Of Madness (everyone should hear this live)
Thin Line Between Love & Hate (I really want to hear it)
Still Life (very underplayed)
Flash Of The Blade ()
To Tame A Land (ROTAM got it's chance recently)
Phantom Of The Opera (been a long time for me)
Strange World (do I need a reason?)
New Song (epic of course)
Hallowed Be Thy Name (can't live without it)
Iron Maiden (of course)

Killers (gone but not forgotten)
Number Of The Beast (it has to be here)
Stranger In A Strange Land (it's the bass again)
The Prisoner (just for something different)
:shred:

id personally be surprised if the next tour was for another album. i imagine some sort of tour to fill the gap and maybe not a from fear to eternity tour but one like it focusing on recent material (that arent the go to live tracks from their album... wicker man should only be used as an opener imo)  B)

In this show, they play the Clairvoyant AND end with the Prisoner? Could this be the greatest setlist ever??? (that's rhetorical, the answer is of course YES). I would see this in a heartbeat. I would flip the order though, and have them end with Clairvoyant, since it's the best ending of any Maiden song  :innocent:

That setlist would be amazing, especially the Blade Runner/Caught Somewhere in Time intro! Sadly songs such as CSiT and Still Life are somewhat unlikely to be played live again, despite their brilliance...  :(

I heard a rumor that Bruce wants to perform the entire Seventh Son of a Seventh Son album on their next tour, and is trying to convince Steve to go along with it.

It's only a rumor... but it would go along well with the promotion of the (also rumored) Maiden England & Early Years Part 3 DVD.

Which Maiden fans wouldn't totally eat that up?  :edmetal:

Where the heck did you hear that? That would be amazing if they did. It would make alot of sense too with it being a concept album. :edmetal:

Source or it didn't happen :D Although it isn't my favorite Maiden album, it would be beyond awesome to hear Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son (the song) live :shred:

Where have you read the rumour then?

It isn't too difficult to track this to a source, however unreliable it may be.

Sounds very far-fetched: the rumour wants us to believe that Bruce told someone (a reporter, a friend) that he was trying to convince Steve to play SSOASS in its entirety. First of all, the band have never discussed setlist creation in great detail with the public, and second, it would be very unprofessional if such things were made public. "Yeah, I wanted to play the entire album, but Steve's a cunt, he won't have it."

Very very unlikely.

I'd be fine with a reprise of the Maiden England setlist which was already 3/4's of the album anyway.

If they do tour off the back of Maiden England re-release, are they likely to play more than a few UK gigs? I hear you guys all talking about when they'll tour & when the next album might be --but travelling is a pain (i.e. not possible) & for something like SBiT they only played Twickers. Think I'm going to be disappointed. Where did they play in the UK on the Early Days tour?

Playing all of SSoaSS would be pretty damn good.

Early Days tour they played the Reading and Leeds festivals, the Hammersmith Apollo and a gig in Dublin.
I too hope they do a couple of UK dates rather than just another one off like in 2008 and 2010 (Though fortunately I managed to make it to the Twickenham show)

Whatever the next tour turns out to be I've got to make sure I don't miss it. TFF has given me the bug for Maiden gigs again. If the Maiden England show comes out as part of the next Early Years it would be pretty cool to see that setlist again or something close to it but I don't see it being that likely. As for performing all of SSOASS, they didn't do it back in 88 so why would they now? Some songs from the album wouldn't go amiss though. If the dvd does come out I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Donington 88 footage in the package.

i was flicking through channels and caught a glimpse of take that playing wembley. i couldnt help but imagine 100,000 maiden fans collectively screaming along ...wow.        that has to happen at some point

Imagine how Fear Of The Dark would sound!  :yey:

that was one of the songs that came to mind along with trooper and rtth always reliable for participation. just the thought of the brazened air pollution with open roof and fireworks etc if it was done for eg. end of farewell tour. or a giant eddie body and all in the pit centre  wooow, ok now im going over the top    ...deep breathe overexcited
