For all who know how many AMOLAD songs are in the current setlist

In saying that, you may find yourself the only member of the audience left - should the above ever happen. ;)

But the loyalty in commendable. :)

Well... Fates Warning was kind of a good song...  :halo:

I would say that "No Prayer..." is the most underrated of all Maiden releases ("Fear of the Dark" was possibly their poorest). But I still would not like it sung as above. :D

Of course, in the end, this is IRON MAIDEN we're talking about here. I'm thrilled just to see them at all! They could come out and do an a-capella version of the No Prayer For The Dying album and I wouldn't go home unhappy.

Wow!  You're a fan!  Most people here strongly dislike the raspy voice on that record.  Here's a cookie for your convictions.

This December is my first Maiden concert, so I was hoping they'd play a lot of classics, seeing as i missed the Early days tour. But I do really like the new album and Its friggin' Maiden. No matter what material they are using, its gonna be a good show.
I'll just wait for the History Pt. 2 tour for the classics :)

During the Toronto show Bruce had a fairly long statement concerning the subject matter of Out of the Shadows song.  I was wondering if any other shows had a similar occurrance?

This is what I wrote for my Toronto show review:
"Bruce gave a long speech here about Out of the Shadows.  Basically, he said the song is about dreaming and waking.  I wish I could relate it all, but it is hard to recall.  It did sound very much like he was describing the same themes that run through Number of the Beast and Infinite Dreams."

Since Harris co-wrote this song, I would not be surprized if reincarnation was at least a partial theme.

On the other hand, some fans here have commented that Bruce tends to exaggerate things.  Does anyone have something similar to report?

(I wanted to post this in the 'Out of the Shadows' thread, but I can't due to spoiler rules.)

I was referring to Out of the Shadows and not ... Benjamin Breeg.
<*Sigh>
Looks like no other concert has had a speech on the song.

I know that, i just pointed out, that it therefore suits Benjamin Breeg to come after Out Of The Shadows.

On an interview contained on the DVD that accompanies the AMOLAD CD, Bruce explains that Out of the Shadows is about childbirth.  He says that every newborn child is, on the day of his birth, everyone's center of attention and thus "king for a day," which is also a lyric in the song.  This is generally in keeping with the "Life" part of the "Life and Death" theme of the album.  No reason to think he meant to exclude the notion that childbirth could also represent reincarnation, if that's your cup of tea.

There is also no reason to think that childbirth is the one and only meaning of the song, or that other interpretations of the lyrics are invalid.

Thank you for sharing that.  I guess I should have bought the DVD version.  <*Shrugs>

This is similar to what Bruce was saying, except he definitely did end his speech by saying that reincarnation was part of the theme.

I was at the Oct. 12 show in NY.  I saw Bruce tear up the "play classics" sign, I had a great laugh.  There were a lot of old farts complaining during the first 10 songs.  I really pitied them cos it's such an awesome album, I mean they should be grateful that Maiden are making awesome relevant new material after 30 years.  If it's Metallica I can understand the discontent with the new material, but c'mon this the majestic Iron Maiden.
