Flawless (perfect) Maiden songs

Back From The Edge
Let me see your list of Maiden songs where you think that they contain not a single weak part and therefore you consider them to be flawless (perfect).

(I for one have songs in my top ten list some of which I think that they belong there albeit I don't hold the view that they are flawless).

Here's my very short list of flawless Maiden songs:

The Book Of Souls
The Prisoner
Where Eagles Dare
Wasted Years
Alexander The Great

Gonna go with a 10 list in no order that I just came up with

Infinite Dreams
Trooper
Powerslave
Hallowed
Wicker Man
Dance of Death
Book of Souls
Number of the Beast
Can I Play With Madness
Sign of the Cross

Flight Of Icarus
The Evil That Men Do
The Longest Day
When The Wild Wind Blows
The Writing On The Wall

There may be more but I can’t think straight. It’s nearly midnight and I’ve just finished writing a mid-placement assessment. But the above seem to fit the brief.

Remember Tomorrow
Phantom of the Opera
Trasylvania
Wrathchild
Children of the Damned
The Prisoner
Hallowed by thy Name
Where Eagles Dare
Revelations
To Tame a Land
Powerslave
ROTAM
The Evil that Men Do
Brave New World
The Fallen Angel
Paschendale
Brighter than a Thousand Suns
The Lord of Light
The Legacy
Empire of the Clouds

There are many perfect 10s in Maiden's discography but...

To tame a land/Infinite dreams/Revalations are top of the tops

If we’re being super anal and not even tolerating the smallest blemish, then my list would be:

The Trooper
2 Minutes To Midnight
Rime Of The Ancient Mariner
Wasted Years
Infinite Dreams
The Clairvoyant

If we expand it to include the rest of my 10/10 songs that might have some very minor weaknesses, then we’d also get:

The Number Of The Beast
Hallowed Be Thy Name
Alexander The Great
Can I Play With Madness
The Evil That Men Do
The Longest Day
Out Of The Shadows
For The Greater Good Of God
When The Wild Wind Blows

Interesting thread. I think the standard to consider a song perfect/flawless is VERY high. These are the truly 10/10 wouldn't change a single thing songs. For me there's probably only a handful that make the cut:

Hallowed be thy Name
2 Minutes to Midnight
The Evil That Men Do
The Book Of Souls
Alexander the Great
Powerslave

and a few that in my opinion just barely fall short. These are like 9.5 out for 10 for me.

When the Wild Wind Blows
The Thin Line Between Love and Hate
Phantom of the Opera
Moonchild
Infinite Dreams
Rime of the Ancient Mariner

One from each album for me...

Phantom of the Opera
Purgatory
Hallowed Be Thy Name
Revelations
Powerslave
Alexander the Great
Only the Good Die Young
....tough one... No Prayer for the Dying
Fear of the Dark
Sign of the Cross
Futureal
Wickerman
Paschendale
...tough one.... Flawless album!!!
The Man Who Would Be King
Book of Souls
Stratego (:) (:) ????!!!

by Album:

Phantom Of The Opera
Children Of The Damned
Hallowed Be Thy Name
Revelations
Aces High
Caught Somewhere In Time
Moonchild
The Clairvoyant
Sign Of The Cross
The Clansman
Ghost Of The Navigator
Brave New World
Dance Of Death
Paschendale
Lord Of Light
The Legacy
When The Wild Wind Blows
If Eternity Should Fail
The Red And The Black

Phantom Of The Opera
To Tame A Land
Infinite Dreams
Tears Of A Clown
Powerslave

probably more but these come from the top of my head

/: Yes, of course:

Sign Of The Cross!

I will also do one per album:

Phantom of the Opera
Killers
Hallowed Be Thy Name
Revelations
Rime of the Ancient Mariner
Stranger in a Strange Land
Infinite Dreams
(Nothing from No Prayer sorry, but I'd say Fates Warning is the least filler for me!)
Judas Be My Guide
Blood on the World's Hands
Como Estais Amigos
Out of the Silent Planet
Paschendale
The Legacy
The Talisman
The Book of Souls

I might be one of the few people who believes that 99% of Maiden's discography is flawless. That's how much I love this band and wouldn't want to change anything. A few less choruses on Angel and his Gambling Debt, and a couple of minor production changes here and there. And that's about it.

I mean, perfect is a really really high bar. My favourite song has a line that irks me, and I can't really consider it perfect. There's probably something I'd change about every Iron Maiden song if I had a magic wand, you know?

Maybe not Powerslave? Powerslave is really fucking good, doesn't have any awkward lyrics..maybe I'd extend the bass solo a bit.
