It's quite easy: what is in your opinion the best Iron Maiden song without a chorus.

Lyrical repetition is not a chorus, therefore Another Life and Innocent Exile ist on the list. Let me know if I forgot someone or you think I should remove anyone from the list.

(PS: first attempt at a poll. Be gentle :p)

Simple. I need only consider my list of the best Maiden songs...

1. Paschenfuckingdale, brother!
2. Powerslave
3. Hallowed Be Thy Name

...and find the first one I can vote for. :ninja:

I go for Rime this time just because I was so impressed when I heard it live last summer (ok I heard Hallowed live too but then it's on other live albums like Death on the Road). Honorable mentions go to Dance of Death and Infinite Dreams, as well as Hallowed be thy Name.

Nice first poll Reumeren! :)

Aha! Ve heff ze Gestapo hier! ;)

I'm gonna poke on that a little, though. I always thought Where Eagles Dare has a chorus, because the final half-lines of the verses echo each other quite accordingly, even if the words are not identical:

no one should go where eagles dare - no one should fly where eagles dare - they chose to fly where eagles dare

My definition of a chorus is that it, in a lyrical sense should be a reflection of the preceding verse(s). These half-lines nicely wrap up the dramaturgy of the each verse, and therefore could be described as choruses. Then again, that is only my opinion.

And of course, my vote will go to Hallowed Be Thy Name.

Is it my fault that it happens to be the second-best song ever written?

That is not dead
Which can eternal lie
Yet with strange aeons
Even threads may die.
