Hey that's an intro with a bass note on top. So no clear drum (only) intro. Man that guitar riff rules. Reminds me of Dio's Rock and Roll Children (chorus).
Exciter and Starbreaker deserve some mention here, especially the former. Starbreaker is laying down a groovy pattern, perfect for locking in the rest. Priest had more of such beginnings (Living After Midnight), but Starbreaker is a but less blunt. Man, I love Simon Phillips on that album.
