The absolute leading 2:

1. Iron Maiden
2. Judas Priest

Candidates for the third place:

3. Midnight Oil / Bad Religion / Black Sabbath / Bruce Dickinson

This is really difficult because I love quite a lot of bands which have some amazing albums but also less interesting albums. Maiden and Priest had a few weaker ones, but the strong ones make up for it, so they easily stand above the other bands. I also love Rush and Helloween but relatively seen, I think The Oils, BR, Bruce and Sabbath had more consistent discographies. Rush and Helloween both had at least 5 lesser albums... and I am tempted to mention many more bands (e.g. 90s Iced Earth is excellent in my book)!

1. Iron Maiden (no shit)
2. Megadeth
3. Dream Theater

Then there are several other bands that I listen to, but those three are my favorites at the moment. Maiden will always be my number one.

Iron Maiden

The only Metal band I really listen to. I usually stick to indie stuff

Interpol
The Sounds
Damien Jurado
Anna Ternheim
Daniel Wesley
MGMT
Bob Dylan

That's really interesting 'cos it shows Maiden really have something more, that other Metal bands (even if I love them) just don't have.

Tough one.
Other than Iron Maiden clearly on number one, it's hard for me to put my finger on the next two. Or seven for that matter.
I really like Megadeth, Iced Earth, King Crimson and Pink Floyd.
The problem is that other than these 4 I mostly only listen to a couple of albums for each band I try, and while some of them are fantastic like Van Der Graaf Generator and Steve Miller Band to name a few, I don't want to put them too high on the list.
