Eddies Journey

I don't Know if this has been posted before, but I noticed that the Iron Maiden album covers involving eddie seem to tell a story.

Iron Maiden and Killers - Murderer in England

Notb - Sent to hell for his murders

Piece of Mind - Sent to an insane asylum where he is lobotomised

Powerslave - Sent back in time

Somewhere In Time - Sent forward in Time

Cant think of anything that happened from seventh son to fear of the dark, But on the X-factor cover Its eddie being killed and then after that up until dance of death he appeared in the clouds.

I cant really think of a story because I'm not that creative but there is somewhat of a story in the album covers (or some of them)

The X Factor, I believe, is the actual lobotomy he went through, meaning that would take place before Piece of Mind.

Whether or not that's intentional, it's VERY interesting! I never thought of it that way. Thanks for sharing those thoughts!

Which is not the case....

At any rate, there was a member on the boards a while back that made some cartoons detailing exactly that. He used the album art as inspiration and the music in the tunes... VERY well done in my opinion. I forget the name of the site and I don't know if we still might have them in some old threads.

Val Andrade? The website is http://www.maidencartoons.com.br

Too bad that he didn't continue with the episodes after Fear Of The Dark...they were so cool!

Really? I stopped going after NPFTD, because... well I forgot lol. Wonder why he stopped. I might just drop him a line...

I always thought that eddie's story ended with SSOASS. Everything after is a parrelel or depicting eddies afterlife. No Prayer is a parellel of LAD. FOTD(Riggs) is Eddie as a ghost who scares children. Xfactor is a parallel of POM. Not so sure about VXI. BNW is eddie as a ghost in the clouds over futureistic london. DOD is eddie as death. AMOLAD is a parallel of 23:58. I think TFF is a new story for Eddie whitch is good.

Riggs actually got fed up with the band's requests right before Seventh Son, so he painted the Seventh Son Eddie without much of his body so that he has less work to do. He said that the band then "chickened out" and started anew on NPFTD. :D

well on the x factor, he's getting his skull taken off and he's missing half his body and on the ssoass cover he has no skull or brain so the x factor happened before ssoass

That explains the fairly simple arctic setting. Compared to earlier covers, it's very plain.

Hey Onhell, do you happen to know that user's name?
Wait never mind, I found it  :P

He deleted his account, but Abandon was nice enough to provide the link in his post. The toons are really cool.

Yeah, I've seen them all before. I would NEVER have the patience to match up an entire album with a storyline. That would be impossibly difficult with my terrible animation skills and limited attention span  :P A huge kudos to Val Andrade for being able to create such masterpieces.
