Eco-Fascism?

Yea, I live near L.A, and I hear this kinda shit all day. "Eating animals is wrong!" and all the stuff like that. Mostly its just put out there by stupid, lonely people, who never had any kids, or any friends, and became so very close to their pets that to them animals are people. Better people than real human people.

This kind of takes away from their credibility. Everyone knows that eating meat is a necesary part of life. Im sure vegetarianism started out as a great idea, " dont eat meat because the way animals are raised and harvested is wrong", but that stage is gone now. You can purchase meat from animal friendly farms.

Hell, you could even raise and kill your own animals if you wanted. It isnt necesary to completely stop eating the stuff, and tell everyone else they are evil for doing so.

If you look, you will generally find that true vegentarians dont try to force their beliefs on you, they just peacefully co-exsist. The ones out there yelling and bitching, they just want attention, the real issues dont mean shit to them.

I love this statement. Mainly because you can substitute "vegetarians" with anything (Christians, Jews, Hari Krishnas, morons) and it still stays true. It's like Mad Libs all over again! WOOHOO

I was thaught by my geography teacher to be eco-friendly and from that moment on I thought that the green movement in ROmania wasn't large enough. But after reading all of your posts I'm happy there aren't any greens in romania. Still, i do believe that a eco-friendly ocncience is necesary and it is missing in Romania. People just don't give a damn. One of the worst thing that happened is that after the fall of communism, the state began to give back the forests that were taken by the comies in the previous years to their rightfull owers, or their heirs. What happened is that everyone started selling them to foreign companies for big bucks and now we're wondering why after a summer rain houses on mountain slopes go down to the plains. The bad thing is, my family has 0.2 square kilometers of forest and we're trying to sell them, and there's nothing that i can do about it.

I might as well say now that in my 17 years of life I have never once eaten any kind of meat or fish yet I am still perfectly healthy. You have to supplement the nutrients found in meat by eating lots of rice, pasta, wholegrain, fruit... in order to keep healthy but it can be done without too much hassle.

By the way, I don't go around preaching about being a vegetarian and try to convert people to it. Each to their own, I was brought up as one (i.e. my parents were vegetarians so they cooked me vegetarian food so I just grew up with it) but I don't mind if people want to eat meat. They made their choice and I made mine.

Seems to me it was made for you, you are saying you were raised that way so basically you had no choice (most of us don't anyway.) But still I hope you've at least tried a steak, hamburger or hotdog just out of curiosity.

NOOOOO! for health reasons (no matter what country you are in) meat should be cooked well done to make sure you kill any bacteria you really don't want to eat.

Nope. My parents said when they used to cook for me when I was younger that if I wanted meat then they'd cook it for me, but I always said no.

And no I've never tried a hamburger, steak or hotdog. They don't seem like food to me, I've never been tempted to try them.

True that one doesn't want to get Taenia saginata... it's really not a fun worm to get.

Latest scientific studies show it alters your reflexes as well (you get slower, in a word).

But, a rare steak is tasty sometimes [!--emo&:P--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/tongue.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'tongue.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Cheers

I always get steaks medium rare, well-done is too dry. Not nearly as tasty. I would rather live dangerously and eat magnificent steak, then live cautiously and never eat a good steak.
