This is probably my favourite ever Maiden gig. I did the FC bus which took an absolute eternity but we were rewarded with an upgraded hotel which was really too nice for the dirty band of Maiden fans who invaded.
I remember Nijmegen being beautiful, Bruce being at his most aggressive, berating the Korn fans hiding in the tent, and the thunderstorm during Sign of the Cross including a massive thunder clap as Bruce sang a fire in the sky.
A truly incredible moment.
I think it was the first time I got to experience Bruce doing the "good night from Iron Maiden, Eddie and the boys" bit, which made me extremely happy for some reason. Can't remember if he'd done it in Paris the year before which was the first chance I'd had to see him with Maiden.
But the highlight was probably the hotel receptionist rushing out to the bus to demand payment from one of the guests for the porn channels the night before, much to the amusement of the rest of the bus.
And all right at the start of the BNW tour with all the adventures and highlights to come.
