Doubt about the song "Iron Maiden".

"Iron Maiden wants you FOR dead" has the same meaning as "Iron Maiden wants you dead"?
hello friends, I am Brazilian and my english is not perfect. I have a question about the song "iron maiden":

"Iron Maiden wants you for dead" means:

A - Iron Maiden wants you dead.
or
B - Iron Maiden wants you, until death.

It means Iron Maiden wants you dead. They added "for" so there would be enough syllables.

What Batman/Mosh/Whatever his next nick is going to be said. "For dead" in this context is uncommon, but you can say it.

Perun, you also think the meaning of the phrase "iron maiden wants you FOR dead" in the song "iron maiden", means "Iron Maiden wants you dead"?

It is definitely "Iron Maiden wants you dead". Look at the rest of the lyrics, they're not really as friendly as the opening line suggests.

If in doubt these lyrics should help.

I just wanna see your blood,
I just want to stand and stare.

See the blood begin to flow,
As it falls upon the floor,

See the blood flow
Wash the dishes
Up above my head

Iron Maiden
Wants you
(for) dead.

"for" is just there to have enough syllables.

EDIT: What Mosh said.

Yes, as I said.

You know mate, the lyrics of Iron Maiden may not exactly be an outburst of intellect, but they are not that random. ;)

Exactly, the band wants you to be in the good mood, "UP" there.  ;)
