Doctor Doctor / Always Look On The Bride Side Of Life

I have that wonderful soundboard bootleg from one of the Hammersmith dates, and the show starts with theme song from film (Where Eagles Dare).
OK, it was played in the same way that "Doctor, Doctor" is now played before the intro music (as I said):

..."Doctor, Doctor" was played immediately before the band came on stage (or more precisely, the intro music).
Not many boots of recent tours will include "Doctor, Doctor" so it's unlikely that a boot from '83 will include something played on the tannoy tape (or whatever it's called).

What I reckon has happened is that it may well have been organic on the Piece of Mind tour and when this was "revisited" (i.e. during the The Ed Hunter tour), they brought this back - to a positive response. And kept it in.

He clearly states that there was no intro to opening song, in other words Doctor Doctor was the intro to opening song.
Maiden used 663 Squadron score for No Prayer On The Road. Hammersmith show, too. I sampled the bootleg.
After re-reading what I posted, perhaps you may of come to that conclusion. So I need to clarify exactly what I meant - at the show at Hammersmith, Doctor, Doctor was played over the halls speakers and was turned up. Immediately after that, the intro tape was played and the band came on. It was used in exactly the same way as it is used now.

Apparently, Doctor Doctor was already used during the first couple of gigs Bruce did with the band in 1981.

Great old thread. We now know that Doctor Doctor was used since at least 27 October 1981.
What about Bright Side? What is the oldest record we got? Or an Albie -class old timer to confirm. Chances are it's quite as old.

@Iron Lurker @Slartibartfarst42 any recollections for that?

Hey wait a minute. Isn't this the studio version? The harmony sounds different, doesn't it?

Yep that's the studio version

@____no5 my memory is they played Always look on the bright side of life every time I've seen Maiden so that's as far back as A Real Live Tour.

Also @Luisma has confirmed that Doctor Doctor was the last track on a mix tape that used to be played before Maiden gigs in the pub days

EDIT: it was used on the Beast on the Road tour in the way we are familiar, but not again until Give Me Ed Til I'm Dead

Cheers srfc, I didn't expect to have it solved this quickly and definitely!

@Luisma you seem to be a key figure around here. Impressed!

Years Wasted, great touch!
