I received my Christmas gift to me today. I attempted to play the DVD in my home theater and it was entirely garbled although it viewed fine on my home computers. Is this due to regional encoding? Anyone else in the U.S. encounter this problem? BTW, all IM fans should own these items, they are awesome. The picture disc looks truly incredible.

The problem is very likely to be because the DVD would be Region 2 encoded if you imported it from the UK, and that won't play on your Region 1 encoded DVD players. Computers DVD drives, on the other hand, can often play from all regions. I believe there are ways to copy it and make it region-free, but I have no idea how to, and am not sure of its legality.

Did the DVD you bought come with the calendar and small poster? If so, what are they like? I was wondering whether I should buy the DVD instead of the CD because of those.

It is also possible, at least with older models, to program your DVD player so it will play other region codes as well. That was the very first thing I did with mine.

Granted, you won't find out how to in the instruction manual, but you might find something on the net.
