Death Metal

This upcoming release doesn't sound that bad, if you like Six Feet Under, Priest and Maiden! I happen to own some Six Feet Under albums and still like them.
Barnes can do so much with his voice. And it's pretty audible what the man "sings". Not that unoriginal song selection either.

"Graveyard Classics IV: The Number Of The Priest" track listing

Side A: Judas Priest
01. Night Crawler
02. Starbreaker
03. Genocide
04. Invader
05. Never Satisfied

Side B: Iron Maiden
06. Murders in the Rue Morgue
07. Prowler
08. Flash Of The Blade
09. The Evil That Men Do
10. Stranger In A Strange Land
11. Total Eclipse

From Blabbermouth:
"Having a good time playing music is what it's always been about since day one, and that's what the 'Graveyard Classics' albums are to me... a good fucking time! On this trip down memory lane, we cover songs from Judas Priest and Iron Maiden; the two greatest metal bands of all time. Ray Alder from Fates Warning did a guest background vocal appearance on 'Invader', our first single. Ray is a great friend, and an awesome vocalist, and I felt our differences in styles blended well together for the middle section and added some harmony to the rawness. I hope you all enjoy the band's twist on these legendary songs!"

This one sounds a bit dull though, I am looking more forward to hear stuff like Prowler and Night Crawler.

Is it it just me or are are a lot of artists putting out covers albums lately?

Don't get your hopes up. Pretty much all of their "Graveyard Classic" albums are....well...crappy. Chris Barnes deserves some praise for his work on the first 4 Cannibal albums but these cover albums he does with Six Feet Under are good for a laugh and not much else. And personally I'm tired of Death Metal cover songs of other hard rock....I know Six Feet Under does them for fun, but they also know people want to hear crap like this....So he can sell more albums by doing "Death Metal versions"....it's a joke

Great album here. A lot of great songwriting and the band shifts effortlessly between fast paced death metal and more atmospheric doom. Great production too. From Sweden, 1994. Gorement:

Instigated by Sixes, I developed and noticed enthousiam over Sulphur Aeon.

Here a link to their 2nd album, Gateway to the Antisphere, on YouTube (HD quality).

Hail of Bullets "Live in Maryland Deathfest IV" three days ago. Good sound for an audience recording!
With experienced people from the European metal scene. The band features Ed Warby (always a pleasure to hear this man; his playing certainly helped me to appreciate this entire genre), Stephan Gebédi from Thanatos, Paul Baayens (Asphyx) and Dave Ingram (ex-Benediction, ex-Bolt Thrower).
:shred:

That first song has cool audience movement!

Dave Ingram lives in Denmark?

Nice riffs. But a cover, apparently. Original was from an obscure Finnish band as well (Cartilage).
