Deadliest Warrior

3-1 right now. I thought the Gladiator would kill the Apache. William Wallace would kill Shaka in a 1on1 duel but if their armies battled I believe the Zulus would win. I'm hoping for an appearance from Roman Legionairres, Aztec Jagaur Warrior, Templars and Conquisitors.

It'll have to wait till next season, I think.  I think a Roman Centurion would be a great matchup for a Jag, btw.

Oooo, 'centurion' was the word I was looking for. Good call. A KGB agent would be an interesting aaddition as well.

Yes, I believe you're right.... and I think the Spetznaz will clobber the Green Beret I'm kind of sad to say.

Holy Crap! I'm a fan! :D Watching that Pirate vs. Knight was like watching Sarah Connor against the Terminator LOL

After tonights episode I'm at 4-1. I'm really starting to find the announcer/narrator's voice very annoying. What was with the main mafia guy always lighting a cigar, even in the middle of a gunfight? lol

Hilarious moment when the yakuza expert says: "Don't you know world history? They fought together in WW2." Completely put the host guy in his place.

All I have to say about next week's match is: "I eat green berets for breakfast and I'm very hungry!"

I figured the Mafia had that.  As I expected the Thompson did all the damage.  Good fight at the end too.  Next week's should be cool, the machete was just vicious!

I found the interview segments with the "experts" a tad annoying. Stop hyping up your guy and weapons, shut up, hit the dummy and show me the fight.

As fun as it is to watch this show, it's miles away from being realistic. The Spartan was somehow not blinded with glass in his eye (though I always thought Spartans were way better as warriors), and there were many other discrepancies. When they tested the pirate's bomb, the shrapnel did little more than dent the knight's armor, and that kind of weapon is bound to be unreliable. However, the show hosts must have had a hard-on for explosions so they screamed all over the place about how great the bomb was. Also, they did not test all of the armor when testing the firearms. A knight doesn't just have plate but under that mail, and under that leather, and under that cloth. The knight's sword was significantly more deadly than the cutlass, and the morning star completely brained the target while as I have stated before, the bomb was completely uneffective. Also, there's always this question that gets me, when they do 5v5 scenarios, how does the simulate 1000 times work?

Beh.  For all we know, the stuff you're talking about was simulated in.  How many times did the ninja actually get their black eggs off?  Perhaps every time they did it equalled a kill.  With the grenado, shrapnel can hit any area, weak or no - I bet some shrapnel in the eyes would sting.  We don't see the program and don't know how it works.

The consensus among my friends is that the "edge" stuff is mildly rigged, though, to make it appear closer than it really is.

It'sTV.folks.

We.all.know.that.William/Wallace.would.kill.anybody.

Spetznaz?Not.enoiugh.information.but.I.would.give.them.the.kill.over.Rangers.but.not.over.SEALS.or.Recon.

I'm.looking.forward.to.the.Jedi.vs.the.Sith.episode.

Spetsnaz just means "specal forces". You have spetsnaz even in firefighting squads, police stations, etc...
On the other hand, several sources ranked Spetsnaz GRU as #2 army specops squad, behind SAS. Criteria was training, physical abilities, theoretical stuff and statistics, etc.

That's.right.

Ranger.training.is.intense,but.not.our.hardest.

I.gave.them.the.edge.based.on.their.pistol.alone.

They brought in a former Spetsnaz GRU and a Navy Spetsnaz to test.  So, not the firefighters.  And it was vs. Green Beret, and it was really close.  To be honest, the Americans screwed their own pooch by rushing some of the tests.

To be honest, i don't have a slightest idea what that show is all about. I was just passing a bit of information regarding semantics  B)

I showed a friend of mine one of the episodes online and he found them laughable. But he did come up with a couple of good matches.

Merlin vs. Gandalf

and

Computer Programer vs. Stereotypical Nerd. The nerd does have the thick glasses and the pocket protector with several pens that could tip the fight his way :p

Hahaha.  Well the show unfortunately can't quantify magic.  I mean, it's not good science really...it's more about the explosions and shit getting disemboweled.  It's fun to have a few beer to.

I've really liked all the episodes except for the William Wallace vs. Shaka Zulu. They tested the warriors' weapons, not the warriors themselves, so really, any Scotsman and Zulu could've done that.
