Dance of Death DVD Audio

Sorry a bit offtopic but the most Maiden moment of all time is during Dance of Death in Dortmund 2003 when Adrian´s solo transitions into Davey`s and at that precise moment Steve leaves his monitors, takes a few jumps towards drum kit, while Davey using his tremolo in the background, Steve peeks Nicko behind toms like "f*ck yeah*. And right after that begins the awesome melody part. That is pure epicness. I don´t even know if they are monsters or Gods.

What an amazing performance!

I haven’t watched the DVD in ages. I have the original glitchy stereo one. The 5.1 disc is fine but I don’t have the system to enjoy it to the full.

I watched it recently (5.1 disc) and, the manic editing aside, it's a terrific show. Glad I managed to see it live.

Just to avoid any confusion (we've had this before), this thread is about the short-lived DVD Audio release of the Dance of Death studio album, not the Death on the Road DVD.

What would be the definitive version? The original is really rough sounding, but the 2015 remaster isn't particularly better imo. It sounds clearer yes but it has the secondary effect of highlighting how fake sounding the keyboard strings are. And, much like the other 2015 albums, it sounds very flat, at least to my ears. So yeah, it doesn't really sound like I'm listening to the album as broadcasted by an AM radio anymore, but it feels soulless and more importantly weightless, which is not good if you're a metal band.

So yeah, I'd like to hear from those who've experienced all three versions...
