COLUMBUS, Ohio (CNN) -- A gunman stormed the stage during a heavy metal concert Wednesday night, firing on members of the band and the audience, killing four people -- including at least one band member -- and wounding at least two others before a police officer shot and killed him, according to Columbus police.

Before he was shot, police said, the gunman grabbed a hostage and fired into the crowd as he held on to the person. It was not clear what happened to the hostage.

We'll have to wait for further reports in order to catch a glimpse of the motivations of that bloke. For the moment we can only hypothesise as to what pushed him to commit this crime... I've just been reading some eyewitness statements posted on other message boards. Every witness reports that BobZilla was the other band member who was killed - Vinnie Paul got out. One person who claimed to have been in the front row said the killer was shouting at Dimebag: "You broke up Pantera!" Of course this is unverified, being just a post on a message board, but everything else he said seemed right...

RIP, i heard this on the radio this morning, i was so shocked. Why did he though? Was there any need? He deserved what he got and more.
 
Altough I've never really been a fan of pantera, Dime was a great guitarist. Clearly the man who done this was a complete headcase. It is shocking to know that this can happen at a gig were you would expect to enjoy yourself.

[I think there is more to this story ,just so happens he makes it through the door walks right up to him and shoots him in the head this is bullshit, no security cams no one at the doors, this was a staged execution ,If i were able to do so i would look into a murder plot from the very beginning what bar does not have any security working at the doors when there are truley profound musiciand on statge this would never happen at a homo metallica show
