Daily Iron Maiden Trivia Questions

Well that’s the other side of my question I guess, as I would assume Charlotte was closer to any other Murray/Harris composition where Harris wrote the lyrics and most of the music based around a couple riff fragments from Dave.

Or do we believe the claim that Dennis Wilcock actually wrote the song?
Dennis Wilcock was the one who wrote Charlotte, not Harris. For the IM album, it was probably Harris who adjusted part of the lyrics but that was it.

Steve Harris: "That's really Dave's song. I would have been proud to say that I'd written it. I like playing it live because it was something a bit different than I would write". - John Stix interview, Jul, 1983

Dennis Wilcock: "Charlotte was a real person who was not a prostitute but a girl who was a bit free and easy with whom she went with. My lyrics, which around 50% were recorded, were more of a love story lol". – Maiden 77 Facebook Page, Aug. 2014

Harris would/could never admit anything coming from Dennis in any Maiden composition (not only Charlotte). If Harris was the original writer, what stopped Maiden to include his name in the song credits in the first place? He would be there for sure.

After Maiden, D. Wilcock and T. Wapram formed a band called V1. There, Dennis re-told the tale of this original Charlotte in a song called "Schoolgirl (She's So Easy)".
