I know there was a furore about the Queen not being invited to France which, in principle, was a bit annoying.However did anyone notice(or care) how shabbily the veterans were treated when having to wait in the pouring rain, for the tossers(Gordon Brown etc) on the nice dry podium to sort themselves out and get proceedings underway.
