Cradle of Filth's Fear of the Dark Cover

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but I jusdt heard this and i'm livid! this is the worst "Cover" of a song i have ever heard.

Has anyone else heard it? What did you think?
 
It was horrible, they butchered a classic, Dani shouldn't be allowed to sing, he's horrible. Also, did you hear their cover of Hallowed Be Thy Name? Disgusting.

If you can call what he does "singing" and yeah i just downloaded Hallowed be thy name, it's not AS bad but still pretty crap.

Not so horrible. What sounds horrible to you Cradle of filth music or just this Maiden cover? if you don't like COF I understand your judgement about this cover.

I've said it tons of times, and I'll say it again (although I'm getting tired of it)
FOTD was NOT covered by Cradle!
It's a cover done by Graveworm, an italian Black Metal band! It still sucks anyway, but please don't take everything for granted what they tell you on mp3 sharing tools. Oh well, Fear Of The Dark still got butchered, and it sounds alot like Dani, so I figured it was Cradle Of Filth. Cradle Of Filth suck by the way kikithehead, I know you might like them and all, but Dani is a horrible lyricist, he's an even worse singer, and these guys aren't very good on their instruments.
 
I actually quite enjoy Graveworm's FOTD cover. A matter of taste, I guess

the song is on a maiden tribute album.
 
CoF's cover of Hallowed is probably my favourite cover of a Maiden song. They took the song and made it their own quite well, rather than just doing a generic faster/heavier version like most bands.
 
I've gotta interview cradle in manchester next week. I'll let em know what you all thik of the cover. Personally, I like it. Infact, it was that cover which introduced me to maiden in the first place, so dun look a gift horse in the mouth eh?

actually that Fear of the Dark cover is by Graveworm...i thout it was COF too... I think the Hallowed Be Thy Name cover was pretty good...for COF that is. also check out Children of the Bodom's Aces High and Trooper covers.(the keyboard solo in Aces High kicks @$$!!!!
