Having said that, I do have some sort of sympathy to Cradle Of Filth. This is, however, not because I enjoy their music, but because they are so unpopular with tr00 black metal fans. I worked with one who hated them (he actually went nuts when I only said the name) because they sold too many records for his taste. Once we were discussing the issue and he said "they suck". My response was "well, that's your opinion". "No that's not my opinion. They just suck".

I wish Cradle Of Filth all the best and hope they will get a no.1 record some day only to piss of these tr00 folks.

Yeah, I agree. Those people just don't like the fact that COF had sold more than 5 records and they don't spend their time hanging around snowy forests pretending to be trolls and writing music that's a clear and obvious rip-off of DarkThrone.
 
I dig Cradle. They're not one of my favourites but I like the symphonic side of their music and I enjoy their fast metallic sound. I used to hate death/black metal vocals, but I'm growing used to them now and I think they can create a truly eerie, frightening atmosphere when combined with a haunting melodic tune, and this is exactly what I think CoF achieve with panache.

Plus, say what you will, but I think Dani Filth is cool as fuck with his demonic vampire getup and thin, cheeky, cockney accent.
 
my friend had got into them and he took live bait for the dead with him to school... so i asked if i could listen.... and i almost immidietly liked them.. they rule.. one of my fav bands
