Clive Burr passes away

Sorry. Negative post.

Maybe I am overly bitter but the official site lacks sense when on the main page, you see all the news flashing by, apart from this.

You need to click news to find out about it. Seriously, all the other news gets more attention since it's on the main page.

And probably I am also too impatient when I say that two short comments by Steve and Bruce isn't enough. I guess both are busy (and/or can't find the right words at the moment) but I hope something else will surface a bit later.

RIP. I sometimes depress myself when I reflect on how the day will one day come (presumably) that I am still alive and all the members of Iron Maiden have passed away.

Give it some time, please.

They should do more on the website, hopefully they will put up a more fitting tribute (perhaps pictures, videos, old interviews, and new comments from the band). I suspect it would have been quicker if they were all on tour together instead of being scattered all over the place doing whatever they do between tours (at least for comments from band members). To Maiden's credit though, they really seemed to step up to help him as much as possible financially and gave him a nice (and well deserved) moment in the sun during the benefit shows.

I am really sad he is gone, and I do not mean this in any kind of negative way, but from what I know about MS (and honestly most of what I do know is from looking it up after I heard Clive had it) is that it gets pretty bad over time and death at least ends his suffering.

Last April, when Adrian was at That Metal Show, he said that Clive's condition had deteriorated a lot. :(

Adrian? Yes, apparently he was closer with Clive than the rest of the band. Even when he was still in Maiden.

My aunt died of MS in 1986. In that time the disease was less treatable than nowadays. Of course not only a huge blow for her but also for her children and her husband. In the last stage she could only communicate with him by closing her eyes once (yes) or twice (no).

The only thing I can really say in regards to the website, is that perhaps they want to keep the front page on a more positive front. Not saying they are ignoring it or pushing it aside, but it is of course always very saddening to visit something and be confronted with very grim news.

One thing I always liked about Clive (and Nicko) in the videos is that he always looked like he was having a thoroughly good time! Not like some musicians I have seen (all drummer jokes aside).

FORMER IRON MAIDEN DRUMMER CLIVE BURR PASSES AWAY

We are deeply saddened to report that Clive Burr passed away last night. He had suffered poor health for many years after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and died peacefully in his sleep at home.

Sad news ... Clive Burr was a great drummer and will long be remembered for his contribution in Maiden.

RIP Clive.
