Campaign 3 (Quarter Finals) - Battle 1: Iron Fire vs Alestorm

The winner of this battle will face the winner of battle 2 in Campaign 4 (Semi Finals).


Iron Fire. Are they the breakout act of this tournament? I wouldn't have thought they would get this popular. Then again - they really are very, very cheesy.


Alestorm. A band that made all they encountered walk the plank so far. Can they keelhaul Iron Fire? Arr, mateys!

Now this is difficult. I love Alestorm, but Iron Fire have the bouquet of rancid Gorgonzola about them.
 
Definitely Iron Fire. Besides, how could one vote against a band with Iron in its name?
 
I think Alestorm has too many obscure words and complicated lyrics which undermines the cheese.

Iron Fire on the other hand...

I could join this game if it was allowed to simply vote for the song that I'd enjoy the most. I have trouble with voting for the most cheesy song, if I would like it less than its opponent. For some obstinate reason I want the nicest one to survive (indoctrinated by all the other games :D).

So, does that matter? Per, Saap, RTC and others, are you also voting for the song you like the best? If yes, then I could stop bothering about the cheese factor and play along. :)

I meant in general, during the whole game, not just this round. Or do you mean, you haven't participated before (just as I)?
 
I've been voting on cheesy factor before. However, both of these bands are incredibly cheesy, and I love them for it. It's like making me pick between a child.
 
I, personally, have voted for the song I like more right from the start. It's obvious that all songs are cheesy if they are in this survivor. Does that help, @Forostar? :)

As per the opening post, I have voted for the songs I "want to win", for whatever reason. Usually it's the one that strikes me as being the funniest (yes, I'm a horrible snob).

So, uh, Alestorm, I guess.
 
I've been voting for cheese factor. As in..the songs with the most metal cliches, laughable metal lyrics, highest cheese screams, most pretentious atmosphere parts etc etc

Because in the end its not which band is cheesy, it's which band is cheesier! :p

And I knew this game would spawn a 'what is cheese' debate eventually! :D I've mainly gone for the cheese I find the most enjoyable, but also at times voted against ones that I thought too good to be truly cheesy, or voted for songs I feel were on the edge of taking themselves seriously when they were, in fact, cheese.
 
How can anyone pick Iron Fire over metal accordian and singing about landlubbers being keelhauled? Iron Fire is like...discount Rhapsody. Alestorm is original and in a class of its own.
