According to the italian web portal kataweb.it, "A Matter Of Life And Death" entered the official italian album chart straight at number 1.

On the same website there's the news (in italian).
Excerpt translation:
" After more than 30 weeks Gianna Nannini (an italian rocker) with her 'Grazie' loses the first position in 'more albums sold' chart, surpassed by Iron Maiden with 'A Matter Of Life And Death' ".

The official page of fimi-nielsen album charts will be updated in the next few days.

In Australia - the album was released this week and it's at Number #12

In New Zealand - the album was also released this week and it's at Number #34 :wacko:

Please continue to contribute. Be precise by telling us if the chart position you're referring to is for the 1st week, the 2nd, the 3rd and so on. Please refer to a source if you can, thanks ! I'll credit you.



Swedish charts should appear shortly. I'm wondering when we will receive news from the Greek front, as the album is known to get great sales over there as well (I know gor will let me know asap anyway).

North American sales are reaching 60,000. We'll see where that puts the album. Still, it's great news to see a surge in sales over there !

Strange. The ifpi.gr page was updated with the charts for 3-9/9/2006 and Maiden are nowhere to be found. I emailed them to see what's going on, I 'll let you know of the response.

The album is not out in Brazil yet, so there is no general chart yet , but it's been number 1 for some time in the biggest brazilian CD store fot its pre-sale, the brazilian version of the album will be out only 11 september.

I think ifpi.gr updates the webiste with 2 weeks delay. Don't ask me why :) So maiden should appear in greek charts the 20th of september !
