Chain of goodness

Perhaps true metal has a one for all mentality.

I'm not a Manowar maniac, but a fan definately.

Candlemass eh? Doom metal, not my thing but hey, its not bad!

Stratovarius

Basing an album on the thoughts and philosophies of Nostradamus is pretty interesting. Beats the old cliches of embracing the steel (cheese), drinking, and whiny teen angst.

My Dying Bride

Stratovarius are ok, I like 'Eagleheart'.

I don't like My dying bride. I can't stand Doom Metal. No offence Black Dragon.

In Flames?

this isn't going too well, let's try again:

I LOVE Avenged Sevenfold PH!!! They're one of my favourite bands! 'Waking the Fallen' and 'City of Evil' are two of the worlds best ever albums. 'Chapter Four' and 'Beast and the Harlot' are their best songs. (The personal photo on my profile is 'Waking the Fallen')

[a href=\'http://www.satriani.com\' target=\'_blank\']Joe Satriani[/a]

I like the new Avenged Sevenfold. Their debut album was pretty bad, but their new stuff is good. Chapter Four, Trashed and Scattered, Burn it Down, and Betrayed are some of their best songs. Their Metalcore stuff was pretty bad, but their City of Evil sound is pretty cool. Just my 2 cents.

I haven't heard any of Joe Satriani.

Pantera.

Is it really necessary to post links of bands everyone has heard of?

Pantera are alright, I never really got into them. Tragic about Dimebag of course, but I was never a fan of their music. Do respect them though.

If you haven't heard the artist under discussion, then you can't follow the rules of the thread. So next time this happens: don't fucking post. Wait until you have something to say.

Maverick turned me on to Angra, and I think they've got a great sound. They strike me as one of the most melodic metal bands I've ever heard.

Time to go old-school on ya:
Fates Warning!

You really need to listen to Joe Satriani, he is an awesome guitarist!

Ascendancy, you don't seem to get it. The rules of the thread are:
First, you say something good about the last band named.
Then, you name another band.

That's why your last post was edited. You're not following the rules.
The band I named was Fates Warning. They are still the band under discussion.

Nothingface is a brilliant album with so many quirky changes that happen so suddenly and with great lyrics. Plus the Pink Floyd cover is great too!

Dragonforce

One of my favourite bands who everyone seems to love or hate. They have two talented guitarists who play mind-blowing solos. Sam Totman is one of the funniest guys I know, cracks me up every time I see him. Some say they're repetetive (and they probably are) but they're still fantastic in my eyes.

I like Battle Magic and the vocals seem cool to me. The band is a bit too unnecessarily heavy IMO. If they played a few more harmonies their sound would imrove as they are talented musicians.

Amorphis

(BTW, I'm now within the top 50 posters in this forum)

Unbelievably good. I love the way they find the perfect mix between the melodies and the heavy riffs. Their best album has to be Hatebreeder. They get a lot of stick for their over the top vocals but I just see them as upbeat black metal. They aren't supposed to be taken seriously.

Just one word... Crusader! what a song, I like a lot the guitars, the vocals are fine.
