I really like Tears of a Clown. I think it's one of the songs that would've benefited immensely from a more focused approach in the studio. More takes, sharper/brighter sound and just a tad bit more space for vocals, guitar parts etc. It's got a nice solo too. I don't know, maybe I'm just hearing things and potential that isn't there for real and my liking for the song just sets such a bias, but I think there's some brilliant groove and some very good vocal lines underneath it all. Catchy, even... Tomorrow comes, tomorrow goes...
I've said this many times, but I think the 2016 backdrop artwork would've made a beautiful 7" or 12" live single cover for some "tour souvenir" release or a Record Store Day thing or whatever.
