Bruce & Never Mind the Buzzcocks

For those who live in other countries I'll explain; Never Mind the Buzzcocks is a UK music panel show, with a comedian (usually) and artist on each team + the team captains. It's mostly about the comedy but the rounds are things such as doing intro's acapella and they have to guess what it is, what line comes next and such.

Anyway, I've been watching it lately out of boredom (it's always enjoyable) and after linking an episode to Mosh he made comment that he think's hes heard of it before due to Bruce. So.. there are 2 episodes with Bruce on it (there's also some with Slash, Lemmy, Alice Cooper and other metal celebs, but usually its more poppy).

The very first episode back in 1996: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaT97nen ... ults_video

And his second appearance in 2002: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KaPEqINgJKc

I'm watching the first one atm, not seen it before.. and god Bruce is hyper.

Those were good episodes and I think I may have already seen the 2002 episode because I have vague memories of having first seen Never Mind the Buzzcocks when Sean Hughes was still on it and then leaving soon after. I don't remember Bruce being on that episode (or any of the other guests for that matter!) but I was twelve years old at the time and had no idea who Iron Maiden were.

I think the problem with Never Mind the Buzzcocks is that the show focuses too much on the presenter and the team captains so that the guests don't really get a look in unless the presenter has a reason to rip them mercilessly for the entire show. Therefore less abuse-worthy guests such as Bruce Dickinson just fill a seat for half an hour. I did notice how hyper he was in the '96 episode but that was probably down to not being so much in the public eye as often in the mid-nineties. :P
