According to The Sun, IRON MAIDEN frontman Bruce Dickinson has turned down a spot on the judging panel of the U.K. version of the hit American singing competition "The Voice".

Dickinson was offered the job by the BBC, who want the show to rival "The X Factor" when it launches next year. But Bruce said: "That show sounds so crap and demeaning to everyone involved, I took great delight in turning the BBC down. 'The X Factor' is appalling enough, it's no better than 'Opportunity Knocks'."

Polish tabloid Fakt reported last week that guitarist/vocalist Adam "Nergal" Darski of Polish extreme metal veterans BEHEMOTH has signed on to be a judge on Poland's version of "The Voice", appropriately named "The Voice Of Poland".

Is this old news? I could've sworn this happened already.

"Appropriately"? Man, how I hate Blabbermouth. And there I was, thinking Nergal and Behemoth had integrity...

I don't get what angers you. It said appropriately named Voice of Poland because it is the Polish version of the Voice. They were stating the obvious.

Judas Priest plays on American Idol!
Point being?
Maiden's got this great management, gigantic PR machine with the merch etc etc and Priest doens't. Priest needs PR too - Cause Maiden gets lots of it.  To go out there and play your music on TV's biggest music show is clearly way different to being the lead judge on the show which Bruce rightfully turned down. Priest played live on AI, paying respects to the guy that's been flying the flight for Heavy Metal to the mainstream.

The difference in attitude towards such shows. I assume you're not the happiest about it either?
It happened two months ago and I don't recall having seen anybody posting this.

That's one good point, alright.

I'm quite content with it. Priest's got one extraoirdinary shitty management and never gets exposure (aside from when KK left... And that just showcased once more how shitty the management is. They handled it pretty fucking badly). I'm just happy Priest finally got to reach out to a new audience. They need it. Maiden however, is a band that's fairly popular even with audiences that's not Metal fans per se and everywhere they go they get great PR.

Now, had Priest gotten on AI for anything else than playing their music live, I'd been ticked off.
