Bruce Dickinson Solovivor 2024: THE TOP 10 - #3

Eliminated after Round 13:
Real World - 14 votes
The Magician - 10 votes
Real World is very solid, but I guess the repetition (in such a short song) and the high-pitched voice work against it. The Magician may not be the most impressive short rocker, but it's so good and catchy. Should have stayed a bit longer.

Votes:

Starchildren
Arc Of Space
King In Crimson - I just like the other songs better. Great song.
Trumpets Of Jericho - only because of the not so interesting instrumental part.

So Taking The Queen has its first votes. Madness to see the amount of votes for the AOB singles...

In this part of the game that's normal.
From AOB I hope the title track, Darkside and Omega will survive.
Well, I certainly thought they would win over Starchildren, Arc and Queen (love it). All the five big classics deserve to be promoted - title track, Road, Man, Aquarius and Omega.

Eliminated after Round 14:
Return of the King - 11 votes
Machine Men - 10 votes
Starchildren - 9 votes
Man of Sorrows - 9 votes

This keeps getting more and more difficult. Two votes from AOB so for promotion purposes, and two very, very tentative votes from TCW that I don't feel good about.
  • Accident of Birth
  • Arc of Space
  • Gates of Urizen
  • The Alchemist

This was brutal. I went with Arc of Space, but the weakest song here is still pretty, pretty, pretty good.

Queen, Aquarius, and Omega for the win. As for TCW I'll continue hurling sacrilegious votes at King, Thel and Jerusalem because I can't decide on my favourites. Other than Urizen which is absolutely beautiful.

Road to Hell
Accident of Birth
Omega
King in Crimson
Gates of Urizen
Trumpets Of Jericho

Man Of Sorrows is out! Unacceptable! And I wonder why Bruce doesn't play it live...
I didn't expect so many votes for Return Of The King. Machine Men is an underrated song imo. The album's heavy riffing, anthemic approach in the vocals and the cool solos are presented perfectly.

Votes:

Arc Of Space
King In Crimson
Jerusalem (as of now I like Urizen more)
Trumpets Of Jericho

Btw, I didn't expect Arc Of Space to last this long.

Yes, relly sad to see Man Of Sorrows going. Such a different song for Bruce.

Don't vote for Arc Of Space, defend it at all costs. Such a beautiful acoustic ballad! Roac to Hell and King In Krimson are good, but nothing that special amongst the Bruce catalog

I'd be okay with voting "King in Crimson" out if it was only the first length. The intro riff is godtier and the song is kickass from the start - but the minute Roy and Adrian take off with those incredible solos we go from a great song to a fucking awesome song.

Road To Hell (could have easily been a Maiden classic, one of Bruce's very best) and King In Crimson (with its 2 amazing solos) nothing special? Wow.
