Well, I was amazed! In fact, all Craig's Bond movies are not only my favourite Bond movies ever, but also some of my most consistently exciting cinema experiences in the last ten years.
It's funny, because I still meet people who say "Craig's not Bond" (thankfully there's less and less of them), but 1.) if the next film with him will really come out in 2018, he will have been plaing Bond for 12 years, the same as Moore 2.) he can nail everything about the character, IMHO. From the literary "brutishnes", to the action scenes, to the finesse of the previous movie versions, for me he is the Bond. Seriously. I will be very sad to see him go.
Spectre reminded me of Quantum in a way - both very dependent on previous installments, both very underrated in the circles I move in, atypical relationship with a Bond girl, somewhat blander villain (strange, since he was played by Waltz), both have an Italy setting, a controversial opening song, you could mention even the Spectre/Quantum parallels...
