Black Sabbath

It's impressive by Axl Rose to sound 10 times worse than Ozzy despite Ozzy's health issues and Axl being 14 years younger.
He cant sing anymore like 90s. Why? I dont know. The tour with acdc he did a good tour but the falssetto was there in some songs. Last consistent tour was 2010 the best axl rose since 1993. That tour you can check the videos was like listening him in 1991 to 1993. Now if you go to a gnr show its like expecting him sing well song by song and being like that 3h.

It's a shame that Iron Maiden as the band or none of the Iron Maiden guys (esp. Steve Harris) could not participate at this Black Sabbath's farewell concert.
There were the names as Metallica, Mastodon, Alice in Chains, Tool, Tom Morello, Anthrax, Gojira, Billy Corgan, Steven Tyler, Pantera, Slayer and GnR and it would be nice if Iron Maiden were among these names at the concert. And Judas Priest could not participate because of the Scorpions' concert but they've done a (very good) cover of War pigs.

No way was Sharon going to bury the hatchet.

... And I kind of get it. Don't get me wrong, Sharon took it way too far with the egging and fucked the fans over, just way out of line, but this is meant to be a celebration of Ozzy and Black Sabbath. Let's face it, Bruce mouthed off and acted like a prick, and you reap what you sow.

Do I want that cousin that I really resent at my birthday party? No, I'm better off without her attending. And neither does Sharon in this case.

Seriously though, how much of a connection between Sabbath and Maiden is there?

Obviously every early metal band was influenced by Sabbath in some way, and it would've been cool to see Maiden utterly outclass tip their hat to Sabbath as "one British metal band to another", but I never got the sense that Maiden were really that close with them. Nearly every other artist has very obvious ties to Sabbath's music, (Metallica, Alice in Chains, Pantera, Ghost) or there's a personal connection like Slash working with Ozzy or KK Downing being another Brummie metal originator.

Bruce was a bigger fan of Dio Sabbath, had worked/wanted to work with Ronnie and he had played with Tony on a charity recording of Smoke on the Water but, off the top of my head, I can't think of many connections between them. I think Maiden would've been a little out of place there.

Perhaps, yes, but not any more out of place than Guns n Roses. Steve Harris, however, would have fit right in. He, like Geezer, has a prominent playing style and have influenced plenty players, and I'm my memory seems to recall Steve has cited him as an early infuence.

If Tool was there why wouldn't Iron Maiden be? What ties does Tool have with BS? Musically they're barely influenced by Sabbath. Iron Maiden definitely has more in common with BS than Tool.
Also the guys from Rush (Lifeson and Lee) were invited to participate and they have nothing in common with BS.

I think you could find some connections between early Tool and Sabbath, plus Adam Jones is close with Tom Morello, it was him who invited Tool to play. I didn't know Rush were invited, that is odd. Admittedly there are some confusing inclusions that make less sense than Maiden, as great as he was I still don't know why Steven Tyler was there. Anyone know any connection between Aerosmith and Sabbath?

I think is the reason is friends, influences on their lives, abput music. I dont find conections with smashing but was there

Between sets there were video msg's from Kiss, Elton John, Dolly Parton, and recorded performances from Jack Black and Fred Durst.

Anyway two things were totally forbidden on this event. Anything related to Maiden and post-Ozzy Black Sabbath era.

This was celebration of Ozzy plus Black Sabbath, and event was organized by Osbournes so I get it, Maiden beef must be much bigger than few bad words and eggs.

And about post-Ozzy Sabbath, I dont know how they split copyrights and name usage, but when you look at social media it seems that Sabbath is only until 1978, everything after that is like solo Iommi projects.

I just watched the performance of Paranoid, and I will not watch anything else from this gig. It was a bad decision to do this show. Sabbath should not be remembered like this. You don't celebrate a person's life by looking at their last photos from their deathbed, and you should not celebrate Sabbath's career this way.
