And so we finally arrive at our (still unordered) top ten songs: six Maiden, two Metallica, one Priest, one Sabbath. All four metal giants represented, but no one else.

Powerslave, The Number Of The Beast, One

Reasons:
a. I won't vote against my own picks of course - which includes Hallowed and Paschendale (they were on my list but cornfedhick and Genghis Khan picked them first).
b. One gets my vote because the bass isn't loud enough. If only they had turned up Jason in the mix...
c. I can't bring myself to vote against Painkiller yet, so I had to choose 2 Maiden songs. That was a tough choice, but Number and Powerslave are the two I favor least today.

Well, SMX warned against this earlier, but we certainly have a Final 10 that are a bit too heavy on Iron Maiden -- perhaps not surprising given the name of the forum.  For this reason, I'm joining SMX in voting for two Iron Maiden songs here -- the same two -- plus Iron Man, which is legendary but I'm tired of it.

I just found something interesting. I went to DigitalDreamDoor - a site that has been posting music best-of lists for years. Their lists are generally well-informed, because they are based on years of input from their many forum members. Of course, nobody will agree perfectly with any list, but theirs are usually reasonably good.

Our list-makers named 6 of DDD's top 10 and 15 of DDD's top 20. It seems that we are in about two-thirds agreement with them. And there is zero disagreement about the #1 song, apparently.
