Approx Value of my Collection

Evening All,

Just after a bit of advice really. I am considering selling my Iron Maiden vinyl collection in order to raise funds (trying buy buy a house and every little helps). The idea of parting with my collection that has taken me several years to build (I'm not that serious, just a lazy collector) pains me, so unless I think I can get a worthwhile sum, I'm going ot keep it.

Any ideas you may have on what I could get for the following (seperately) would be greatly appreciated. The highlights of my collection are:

1st ten years singles. All 8 double vinyl sets, no box though. All vinyl is in mint condition, some slight sleeve damage to 3 of them though.

Live After Death - original pressing double vinyl set - very good condition

Holy Smoke 12" picture Disc - mint
Bring your Daughter to the Slaughter - 7" etched ltd ed single - fairly good condition
Live + One - Japenese Ed, mint with the little Jap wrap around bit and everything

Be Quick or Be Dead 12" pic disc - mint

Fear of the Dark (live) - ltd ed poster sleeve

Man on the Edge CD box set (parts I and II)
Virus Boxed set (parts I and II)
Out of the Silent Planet Ltd Ed 12" pic disc
Angel and the Gambler Singles with postcards, parts I and II

Beer Drinkers bootleg - Somewhere on Tour double yellow vinyl set
Return of the Beast bootleg - Ed Hunter double blue vinyl set

Metal for Muthas LP - original pressing, good condition
Samson - Shock Tactics - original pressing good condition
ASAP - Silver and Gold - original pressing good condition

Plus any ideas what I might get for all the Maiden VHS collection? All videos from Live at the Rainbow to Raising Hell, all in great condition.

Any help you have suggesting values would be a great help before I place any ads or use Ebay. Please note I am not selling anything using this board, so please don't ask.

Cheers

Gaz

These prices are what I would expect you to make on ebay and assuming they're excellent condition.

1st ten years singles. All 8 double vinyl sets, no box though. All vinyl is in mint condition, some slight sleeve damage to 3 of them though. - [span style=\'color:red\']There are actually 10 double vinyl sets so perhaps you miscounted or you are missing one of the vinyls. I paid £60 for the set in mint with the box. I believe that without the box, the price does drop quite a bit. Individually these singles can sell for very little or sometimes for up to £10. I think that if you song them as a set you'd be lucky to get £30...[/span]

Live After Death - original pressing double vinyl set - very good condition - [span style=\'color:red\']Not worth much, assuming its a UK press i'd say you could fetch £5 for it if lucky.[/span]

Holy Smoke 12" picture Disc - mint - [span style=\'color:red\']I'd estimate it at £10[/span]

Bring your Daughter to the Slaughter - 7" etched ltd ed single - fairly good condition - [span style=\'color:red\']Not worth much, I saw a mint one go for 99p yesterday and I was planning to bid but forgot [!--emo&:D--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/biggrin.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'biggrin.gif\' /][!--endemo--] On the other hand, I have actually seen a few fools believe these to be real signatures and saw it sell for £20, made me laugh. Yeah you'd be expecting £2 for this one. [/span]

Live + One - Japenese Ed, mint with the little Jap wrap around bit and everything - [span style=\'color:red\']I picked this up as one of my first items for £27 without the Obi strip (little jap wrap around bit). Which I regret because I want that obi [!--emo&:D--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/biggrin.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'biggrin.gif\' /][!--endemo--] this one really varies, you can sometimes make £25 on this or even as little as £10, i'll give an estimate of £20[/span]

Be Quick or Be Dead 12" pic disc - mint - [span style=\'color:red\']Expect £10, maybe a little less or with some luck a little more.[/span]

Fear of the Dark (live) - ltd ed poster sleeve - [span style=\'color:red\']I'd guess around £8[/span]

Man on the Edge CD box set (parts I and II) - [span style=\'color:red\']You could probably make as much as £15 for this set.[/span]

Virus Boxed set (parts I and II) -[span style=\'color:red\'] £10+[/span]

Out of the Silent Planet Ltd Ed 12" pic disc - [span style=\'color:red\']I paid £7 for this as one of my first items, i'd say you'd be expecting £5+[/span]

Angel and the Gambler Singles with postcards, parts I and II - [span style=\'color:red\']I've seen these sell for a fair bit recently, £15 for both, although i'd probably recommend selling them seperately.[/span]

Beer Drinkers bootleg - Somewhere on Tour double yellow vinyl set
Return of the Beast bootleg - Ed Hunter double blue vinyl set - [span style=\'color:red\']Sorry but seeing as i'm not a bootleg collector i'm not sure how much, perhaps £7 each.[/span]

Metal for Muthas LP - original pressing, good condition
Samson - Shock Tactics - original pressing good condition
ASAP - Silver and Gold - original pressing good condition
[span style=\'color:red\']Again, only a collector of the maiden stuff, i'm sure someone else will know, I've seen MfM go for £3 so i'd guess around that much for each of them.[/span]

Plus any ideas what I might get for all the Maiden VHS collection? All videos from Live at the Rainbow to Raising Hell, all in great condition. [span style=\'color:red\']As a set you could probably make £15 maybe[/span]...

Cheers for the above advice. All what I kind of gathered, I am in two minds about parting with my records.

I don't have a scanner to post picture of the bootleg, but my girlfriend does. Once I get it scanned in I'll post it. I haven't dug out my LPs in nearly two years (they are sealed up in boxes in the attic), but if I remeber rightly the cover is black with the Eddie planting a flag in the World type picture. Live shots and track listing on the back.

Bootleg LPs can go for anything up to around £50-60. Usually the price depends on the performance, setlist, number of tracks, pressing quality, how many were pressed, company, popularity of the gig/recording (ie the shorter vinyl bootlegs of the Palladium 1982 radio broadcast fetch more than vinyl bootlegs of the gig from Sapporo on the same tour because the NY '82 one is probably the most famous bootleg)

Great, I cannot wait!Do the vinyls come in a gatefold sleeve?

If you are planning to only sell a few items and not others, its worth checking out ebay to see if the item you have is on there already. Save it to your favourite and see what it goes for in the end. Of course this is not always a fair reflection of what you may get if you sold it, you may get more, you may get less.

You could try selling your 1st ten years vinyls individually rather than all together, since its not a complete set and you dont have the box for it. You might fetch more money for them that way.
