another classic tour?

anyone here think we will get another classics tour? we just had the Somehwere back in time tour. What would the tour be called? a Seventh Son kinda tour to follow the powerslave kinda thing.

I question them doing a tour covering 7th Son since they already did that on SBIT. The only possibility of another tour like SBIT would be one covering No Prayer-Virtual XI and like others have stated, since those albums weren't very popular, that's probably not going to happen.

Considering almost every other tour since Edhuntour has been a non-album tour, anything is possible. It's hard to say when it will happen and what material will be covered though. It'll probably be some time in 2012 since next year's tour will be to promote TFF.

In my books every tour is a classics tour.  This current tour is a beauty, SBIT and AMOLAD tours were both "classic" in my books.  The band hasn't put a foot wrong in the touring department during the entire reunion period, except maybe the lack of a 5th NOTB song during the A Matter of the Beast tour...not that the setlist wasn't worthy, but that 5 NOTB songs were anticipated and so Wrathchild could have been replaced by 22 or Invaders for a real celebration of 25 years since the albums release.

The classics tour that makes any sense to me is if they decided to replicate Maiden England.  But I'm not sure if that's going to happen or not.  I don't think that show is as heavily lauded as Live After Death was.  And there's no way in hell that they'd attempt a 90's era tour.  In fact, I'd prefer they just stick to album tours with a smattering of old songs.

I suspect they will do something with deeper cuts rather than all the classics.  It honestly seems like they have gotten bored playing the trooper and run to the hills year in and year out.  Is anyone hoping (assuming the album is awesome) hoping for TFF in its entirety next tour?

I don't. I thought it was overkill with AMOLAD, and I'd rather hear two-three other songs outside the "classics" bunch from more recent albums. For example, on Death On The Road, they played songs from The X Factor and Brave New World. On the AMOLAD tour, besides the 10 songs from AMOLAD, they played three songs that they never ditch, plus two that they play frequently.

For me, the ideal mix is 4-5 of the ever-present classics like NOTB, Hallowed .. and Iron Maiden, 5-6 from the newest album, and the rest picked from all over the band's career.

Since I don't know the setlist of the ongoing tour, I don't know how that compares to my wishes.
I've heard rumours that the majority of the setlist is from the last few albums, but I don't know any concrete song names. Still, I like the thought of many BNW/DoD/AMOLAD songs. I put this in spoiler tags just in case someone thinks even this is too much information
.

Good! That means we're doing our jobs well!

I certainly hope that in the future they play some more of the BNW/DOD/AMOLAD tracks, because I love those three albums.  Id like to hear them bring back the Clansman.  Great song, and bruce sings it well on several bootlegs I have.

It's good to know that all this spoiler stuff actually has a purpose to someone. Hope you don't get spoiled before you see the show!

Just out of curiosity, what songs do you think they're playing on the current tour? Not what you'd like, but what would you consider to be realistic.
