Ah, Matthew Barlow making a career change. Not very "metal" to become a police officer in some people's eyes but he's got a fine set of pipes!
 
I remember that he wanted to leave Iced Earth after 9/11 for he wanted to contribute differently to the world.

I have respect for someone who is ready to give up success (whatever that is) and follow his personal beliefs.

I had discovered that when I was reading a review of Horror Show(great album, by the way) and the guy quotes "He left Iced Earth to become A FUCKING POLICE OFFICER". Well I respect Barlow's choice however.

Well, at least he's still in a band, playing with his partners from the Delaware police. There's even horns in their ensemble, must have a slighter jazz accent than Iced Earth though...Funny how life goes anyway. Just look at those career moves: David Lee R. drives an ambulance, Bruce D. an aircraft, Matthew B. joins the old Bill, Head found god, Wolf Hoffman from Accept became a photographer, Bernie from Trust is now a movie director... Is that a spell linked to the fact that if you've started your career as a heavy metal man, you 'll have to end it on a much more reasonable level.
Mid life crisis or what?

Jonas Åkerlund, director of Spun and numerous music videos, including Madonna's "Ray of Light", is the former drummer of Bathory. He was on their debut album.
 
I can't believe hwat he looks like now. I'm listening to him now on Iced Earth's SWTWC album. Does see sound the same now?
 
Who cares who does what "later in life". Heavy Metal is not a lifestyle, it's freaking entertainment. Man me, personally, have to give props to the guys that take a chance and change things in thier lives. You not the same person as time flows on, and if you are then something is kinda off. I am not the same person when I was in my teens, and I am not the same person when I was in my twenties.
 
Matthew rules. Piss on the hairs. I hope his heart staying Metal ! Maybe he come back to Iced Earth. Than the hairs growing again and the Metal side awake!
