Seriously?  I do dig that it was their seventh album-- do you think they had this concept and waited?  The story of the seventh son of a seventh son is an old story, so, yes, if the concept had struck them at the 6th or the 8th, I would think they still would have used it. Thats just my thinking-- has Maiden ever used such 'numerology' on other albums?  I guess that X Factor and Virtual XI would be so... hmmmm.

I think the idea for the concept came the time they sat down to write it. Besides Harris in an interview had admit that the reason for the title was (also) because it was their 7th album

For X and XI is exactly the same : Both titles include multiple meanings inside,
and this is the purpose of titles anyway
