Good list, I would add Jethro Tull.

I wouldn't call him metal though. My list was of metal artists and yes, Deep Purple can be considered metal in this situation.

Certainly not, they are a rock band and should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but they are certainly an influence on prg-metal bands.

I think the committee sees them as metal. Otherwise they would've probably been in first year of eligibility.
