Alexander The Great some day!

I wouldn't consider what I said being hard on Adrian but since you can't hear my tone or see my facial reaction thru a forum things can seem meaner than they are.

Probably not even his decision.
I was going to say something along those lines, that he's not the only reason why they aren't playing it. There are other factors, I'm sure.

You did use a lot of exclamation points and you swore so that leads me to believe you were being hard on him.

Well anybody know the reason why Mother Russia has never been played? It's a great song to end an Iron Maiden album same thing with the thin line between love and hate another great song to end an album but not as good as Mother Russia and then who can forget one the best songs ever to tame a land another great song to end an album.

Plus you said he shouldn't win that poll for being a perfectionist. That's pretty hard on him.

I wonder if Maiden realize the cult status of SIT. They were pretty positive about that era in the recent doc, even Bruce seemed to be over his issues with it. I get the feeling that if they knew how popular the album was among fans, they'd play more from it. Maybe even give Alex a serious go. Probably just don't think there is a demand.

I'd almost assume that they don't or else, like you mentioned, they'd play more from it than just Wasted Years. There just seems to be a bit of a shadow cast on that era mainly due to the fact of them not releasing any sort of pro concert footage from the tour where as every other era before or since seems to be talked about more often. Maybe that's why it has such a cult following. The album is great yet the era itself seems to be mysterious.

Somewhere in time and Killers are the 2 albums from the 80's that Maiden kind of forget. Wratchild, Wasted years&heaven can wait are the only songs that are in the rotation of an Iron Maiden setlist. That's why the early day tours was amazing because the Killers album was well represented. And I thought that when they announced the somewhere back in tour they would have at least half of the songs from somewhere in time but nope. I know the band wanted a live album for SIT but Rod Smallwood said no. 7th son got the live album and vhs so that's why to me songs from a 7th song get a lot of rotation in their setlist and not SIT. Sad turn of events really.

I was dramatically disappointed by this as well. Powerslave is my second favorite so I was excited beyond belief of a rebirth tour! Loved the set list but I'm getting tired of Heaven Can Wait and Wasted Years. Steve always says they try to avoid being a commercial success but all they do is play their "commercially successful songs". I don't understand why they couldn't change Wasted to Sea of Madness or Stranger in a Strange Land. It's a shame they will never play Caught Somewhere in Time again. Their reasoning sucks and I am holding my breath for a "Somewhere Back on Tour" style tour but Maiden are getting old, and they are doing a new album. My hopes may be lost as Somewhere in Time is my favorite and funny enough, happens to be their second best selling album world wide... :)
