Albums where every song is good.

Since the thread reads, "Albums Where Every Song is Good", that's how I'm going to respond. If I list every album that I'd give an 8/10 or higher...we'll be here all day. There are plenty of albums that I love that still have one or two really bad songs while the rest are perfect. For instance, I love Megadeth's Countdown to Extinction, but I'd give Psychotron a 2/10 and thus, that album can't really go on this list.

First ones that come to mind without thinking about it:

Armored Saint - Symbol of Salvation
Opeth - Still Life/Ghost Reveries
Symphony X - V/The Odyssey/Paradise Lost
Tom Waits - Mule Variations

After thinking about it:

Bruce Dickinson - The Chemical Wedding
Dream Theater - Images & Words
Iced Earth - Horror Show
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Sabaton - The Art of War
Black Sabbath - Heaven and Hell
Clutch - From Beale Street to Oblivion
Dio - Holy Diver
Powderfinger - Vulture Street
Seventh Wonder - The Great Escape
Tracy Chapman - New Beginning/Telling Stories
William Elliott Whitmore - Hymns for the Hopeless

Sadly, no Maiden records fall into this category. There's usually one stinker per album. :(

The Final Frontier

Death - The Sound of Perseverance
Helloween - Keeper of the Seven Keys Pt. 1
Iron Maiden - Somewhere in Time
Iron Maiden - Brave New World
Joe Satriani - Surfing with the Alien
Judas Priest - Painkiller
Ramones - Rocket to Russia

Iron Maiden - Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, Brave New World, Piece of Mind, The Final Frontier (Rock In Rio, I know it's a live album, but it's a perfect live album)

Black Sabbath - Paranoid, Heaven and Hell, Master of Reality, 13.

Dio - Holy Diver, Master of the Moon.

Metallica - Master of Puppets, Ride the Lightning.

Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon, Meddle, Animals, The Wall, The Division Bell.

Tenacious D - The Pick of Destiny

Queen - A Night at the Opera

Well my taste in music is little out there, so here's all the albums I can think of in which every song is good.

Iron Maiden - Killers, Powerslave, Somewhere in Time, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, The Final Frontier
Bruce Dickinson - Skunkworks, Accident of Birth
Pearl Jam - Ten, No Code
Gorillaz - Demon Days
System of a Down - Toxicity
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon, Animals
Steve Vai - Passion and Warfare
The Beatles - Abbey Road
Ozric Tentacles - Jurassic Shift
My Bloody Valentine - Loveless

Yeah, that's why I didn't put Ride the Lightning in my ones, I feel it's not up to the rest of the album (same with many many other albums actually)

I think they are both light years better than Fight Fire with Fire, which I find to be one of the worst, and downright annoying, Metallica songs.

I love RTL myself but Escape, Trapped Under Ice, and Fight Fire with Fire are far from great songs IMO. I could easily put Master of Puppets in this category though.

I adore Fight Fire With Fire. The guitar solo is one of my favourites ever. It's the second best Metallica opener besides Battery.

For me Ride > Fade > Fight > Call > Bell > Creeping >>> Escape > Trapped.

Oh yeah, And Justice For All has no bad songs either. Shortest Straw is the weakest, and it's still pretty good.

MOP has the average Leper Messiah holding it back.

I honestly don't think Metallica has ever had a "perfect" album, but Master of Puppets definitely comes the closest. Justice isn't far off, either. Neither is The Black Album, which I actually consider to be their most consistent from start to finish.

Fight Fire With Fire is an awful song. One of their worst. It's really the only song that keeps me from listing it here myself.
