I come from a Jewish family, Jeff. There are certain phrases that you can't shirk from your lexicon unless you actively think about it.

Also, colloquial terms and slang and whatnot.

It's not as if when I proclaim Holy Shit, it means that the feces has been blessed.

Yeah, I still use the term "god" in common usage. I don't believe in one (or any) though.

Well, what if someone has pica? Only God knows...

Nevermind, God is everything, anyway, alpha and omega.

Well, baktuns are known with another name or by another way in other cultures. It's the second I mention it and you come with this same argument. I don't care if the majority or the literates in history don't regard it as an important reference for the cycle of eras, I find it interesting enough and from what I gather, it matches the social, economical, hystorical events described about each baktun. I said loads of people are preparing for the changes that will come not based on the baktuns, but by any other way they know about the end of this cycle.

When was the first time you mentioned it? I'd remember if I came up with the same argument. As for Baktuns... that's the Maya. If you are refering to other cultures and names... name them. If you say Baktun it is not the readers fault to asume Maya.

I'm glad you find it interesting, personally I could care less. As interesting as it is I find it more akin to Y2k and any other apocalyptic mumbo jumbo than an end of a "cycle" to be taken seriously. Man has been waiting for the end of the world since the beginning, first the year 666 A.D, then the year 2000, (others thought 1999 as predicted by Nostradamus, brought on by the Third World War)... In the end, it is mere speculation and nothing more.

The first time I mentioned it was on a thread about Maiden members' religious beliefs.

Where did I say I believe it'll be the end? It's the end of a cycle, just as every milisecond, second, minute, hour, day, week, year, decade, century comes to an end.

You didn't, but subscribers to the 2012 theory do, sorry for lumping you in on that. Oh and thanks for answering my other questions.
