I think both are sublime, but each in a different way.

Tortured Tone feels like it's a deeper, more forceful song. It's heavier. Has a tense build-up, excellent singing (contributing tremendously to that build-up). The chorus is bombastic. A wall of sound. Warm rhythm guitars that really connect. This song has an intensity that is hard to match. It's a kind of edgy and sad feeling.


But I love the The Lion's pace. The light and subtle Peart-like drumming. Some breaks are very short and fast. Yes, the son of Ringo Starr impresses me a lot on this song. Then there's the passion in Adrian's singing and catchiness of the chorus. And of course the solo (love that divebomb at the end).
 
Agreeing with Foro's points despite our difference in the songs we voted for. I just want to point out the two "different" instruments on both tracks, the viola on Tortured Tone and the piano on The Lion. Both contribute to the songs incredibly.

I would have liked to see a little more ASAP, but good results.
The best song won, and the top 10 is solid.

I was hoping The Lion would have won but I am happy with Tortured Tone.

I also would have preferred more older music, but I don't think I am not satisfied. Quite some strong songs in the top 10.
