Mr. St-Cyr said:Here it goes
I'll start with "Bullet for my Valentine", the entire colisseum started booing as soon as those sad little pukes got on stage. We were all rather perplexed to see an emo band open for Maiden, probably just to pump us up.
I was glad to see the Quebec City crowd was in its usual shape, the whole stadium making those human waves and volleyballs being tossed around.
-Different World: Truly energetic open by their part. The crowd was very extatic. I was surprised to hear that a lot of people sang the chorus(You know, the fact that most people don't speak English). Definately one of the good performances of the night. The crowd loved it.
-These Colours Don't Run: Bruce told the crowd something in scrambled French before screaming its title out loud. The chorus was very powerful live, as I expected it to be. The crowd was very pleased by this performance.
-Brucein scrambled French again) - You know, Quebec City is the only place in North America where we've gone to four years in a row... *Place goes nuts*
-Brighter Than a Thousand Suns: We started headbanging during this song, the powerful and heavy guitar riff was excellent. Bruce really hit some awesome high notes on this one. Fantastic guitar work by the three amigos.
-The Pilgrim: One word. AWESOME! The place went nuts.
-The Longest Day: This song wasn't as good as I thought it would be live. The chorus was really powerful. We are quite sure they skipped that last solo during the harmony just before the last chorus for some reason.
-Out of the Shadows: This was one of the best songs of the night. Truly awesome. We all had our lighters out, the whole place singing along with the chorus, I could barely hear Daves "Super Solo" during the song but what I did manage to hear was quite brilliant.
-The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg: The place lost a lot of energy when they got to this song. Barely anyone singing along, not many people like this one, though it sounds better live than on the album. The only time we cheered, I'm sorry to say, was when the song ended.
-For the Greater Good of God: Mind numbing, brilliant, fantasmagorical. Whichever word you want to use, it is as good, or a thousand times better than on the album (the song is awesome on the album too), this is a must hear, too bad they didn't film us for a live album, it would've been grander than Rock in Rio. Be sure to sing along the chorus and "FOR THE GREATER GOOD OF GOD!" With Bruce, he was impressed by how much noise we could generate.
-Lord of Light: Good performance. The crowd enjoyed this song a lot. Powerful live song.
-The Legacy: Wow! The riff is just so good! The people lost control, the ground was shaking, truly awesome!
-Fear of the Dark: This song, this song now, is Quebec City's favourite song. Lighters out! Singing along Janicks melody. This was the epic of the night. The sound of people singing the chorus was deafening. Best song of the night.
-Iron Maiden: Awesome. The place headbanging and singing along. Janick, do you ever play guitar during that song? Honestly, I don't think he played a single note, too busy flipping his guitar around. The background effects for this one was awesome.
-2 Minutes to Midnight: Among our favourites, the end was the loudest ever.
-The Evil that Men do: Eddie! Very nice to hear that again, always a pleasure!
-Hallowed Be Thy Name: The sound of us clapping nearly took out my eardrums. Awesome.
The band was really in its finest shape ever. Bruce's voice was the best I ever heard live. The only one I noticed something special about was Janick. You know what, Adrian's solo on "Hallowed Be Thy Name" which he usually slaughters? He aced it! Janick's single most precise performance ever, the entire show actually, except "Iron Maiden." I don't know if it was just for us but he was at his best, sounding as good as Adrian does, truly.
The fact that they played the entire new album really pleased everyone. Finally we didn't hear "The Number of the Beast." For me, this was my best Maiden Experience yet. The only bad thing is that I can't speak anymore, I screamed like a crazy pecker during the whole show.]
Have a good one!
Cheers,
Hans
